Zhang Bazar lifts football trophy

CHITRAL, Dec 8: The District Football Tournament 2012 concluded here on Saturday.

About 45 teams from across the district participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Denin Lasht and Jhang Bazar A teams.

The Jhang Bazar team defeated his rival with four goals against one.

In the first half, Jhang Bazar scored three goals while Denin Lasht could not score any goal. In the second half, Jhang Bazar scored another goal. In reply, Denin Lasht scored only one goal.

Shahzada Amanur Rehman was chief guest on the occasion.

The tournament was sponsored by Relief International that works on eradicating zonosis disease in Chitral. Members of Chitral Paragliding Association under Supervision of Mirajuddin also demonstrated their skill. 

The chief guests later distributed the trophies and awards among the players.

On the demand of Taj Wali, the president of District Football Association, Shahzada Amanur Rehman announced to allocate a room in the Shahi Mehmankhana for establishment of the office of the association.

He also said that an annual Shahzada Shujar Rehman memorial football tournament would be held under his patronage. He also announced Rs20,000 for the winning and Rs10,000 for the runner-up team.–Waqar Ahmed
