Injured wolf found in Chitral shifted to zoo after treatment

PESHAWAR: The Himalayan grey wolf has been treated for its injuries at a pet clinic and is now kept in Peshawar zoo.

The injured about six-year-old wild animal was found along Chitral-Mastuj road at Kalak near Kuragh on Oct 30 after apparently been brought down from the mountain by falling rocks.

After providing first aid in Chitral, the wildlife department referred the animal to a pet clinic in Peshawar as its damaged eyeball needed specialized treatment.

It has been learnt that the wolf has now been shifted to the zoo in Peshawar.

However, it is not clear if the wolf would be shifted back to Chitral and released into its natural habitat or would be a property of the zoo.
