Wind blows off pedestrian bridge in upper Chitral

MASTUJ: A portion of the pedestrian bridge linking Khuz village located on the right bank of Yarkhun river with other areas was on Friday blown off during a windstorm.

This was the longest pedestrian bridge hanging over the river and to keep its balance it had been built in two parts. The wind blew off the portion of the bridge on the left side.

Local residents told ChitralToday that a man was crossing the bridge when the wind blew off its wooden plunks. He kept on hanging from the cable and then fell down but there was not too much water where he landed. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
