BOONI: With the start of the holy month of Ramazan, consumers rushed to utility stores in Booni to get essential items on subsidized rates but the outlets were short of stock.
There are four utility store outlets in the Booni town but all of them lack sufficient stock of daily use items.
The consumers complained that though the federal government had announced to provide Rs1.7 billion worth of subsidized items to the stores across the country to facilitate the public. But outlets in Chitral, especially in Booni and other parts of Upper Chitral, were short of essential kitchen items.
The residents here called upon the elected representatives, including MNA and MPAs, to take up the matter at the higher level to ensure the supply essential commodities to the utility stores to provide relief to the public in the holy month.
