CHITRAL: The faculty and other staff of the University of Chitral (UoC) on Monday afternoon announced their decision to put off their protest and class boycott.
In a statement, they said the faculty and staff had been on protest since April 15 against alleged irregularities in the university. They said the protest was badly affecting the academic activities on the campus and keeping in view the future of the students the protest was being withdrawn unconditionally for the time being.
The statement said PTI Chitral president Abdul Latif visited the university and held talks with the teachers. He urged the faculty to end their protest in the best interest of the students which was accepted.
As the peaceful protest started, social circles of Chitral had been expressing their apprehension over its negative impact on the academic activities at the university.
