DROSH: A 125 kw hydro power station being established at Pursat in Shishikoh union council will be ready by June.
The powerhouse is being established by the SRSP through funds provided by the German government under Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) of Pakistan.
PPAF management executive Muhammad Ilyas told Assistant Commissioner Drosh Abdul Wali Khan during the visit of the latter to the site that through financial assistance of KFW development bank of Germany the Renewable Energy unit of the PPAF had launched work on establishment of micro hydro-power stations in Golen, Pursat and Gazen in Yarkhun, Chitral, and other parts of KP.
Some of the units have already been completed and providing power to the locals while Prime Minister Imran Khan was expected to inaugurate the Pursat powerhouse in June. Machinery in these units in Chitral will be installed very soon.
He said the power units were being set up on international standards for which a reputed firm had been hired. These units would continue working under the set standards for 40 years. Machinery for the powerhouses have been imported from China, he added.
