TB awareness walk held in Chitral

CHITRAL, March 26: An awareness session on tuberculosis was held at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Chitral campus.   Deputy Commissioner Chitral Rahmatullah Wazir was chief guest on the occasion.

Earlier, a walk was also held which was led by Dr Saad Maluk, the district TB control officer, Dr Nazir Ahmad, the district health officer, and Dr Noorul Islam, MS DHQ Hospital. Addressing on the occasion, the doctors and experts said TB was a curable disease and its treatment was totally free of cost.

They said Islam stressed cleanliness and science also declared that most of the diseases were caused by unhygienic conditions. Free booklets, pamphlets and brushers were also distributed among the participants. A large number of students, teachers, doctors and social workers participated in the awareness session.—GH Farooqui
