PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan directed framing of tourism bylaws for expeditious promotion of tourism in Malakand and other scenic spots.
He was presiding over the third meeting on Task Force of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism hete today.
The meeting agreed to the creation of tourism police. It would be either a unit or a separate formation involving youth volunteers.
The chief minister said best international models should be studied for tourism policing.
The tourism, police, home and local government departments should sit together to evolve a mechanism for the tourism authority and policing.
He said the tourism police would have to perform certain functions.
The meeting agreed to develop the sites of small dams on tourism lines in order to attract the tourists and make the best use of these spots.
The meeting suggested taking the federal government on board in order to ease issuance of NOC to foreign tourists to the province.
