Students decry hiring of buses by PPP workers

CHITRAL, Nov 16: The students of different public sector colleges of Chitral have expressed anguish over the commandeering of the buses of their respective colleges by PPP leaders to transport the party’s workers to Lowari Pass where prime minister was expected to arrive on Thursday. Talking to this correspondent here on Friday, the students and their parents said they could not attend the college for two days due to the unavailability of transport facility. The local administration had commandeered the student buses of government girls college, government college of management sciences and government degree college at the behest of PPP leaders which had led to the closure of the colleges. One Ashraf Ali of Denin union council said that it was quite inappropriate to use the college buses for political purposes leading to closing down of colleges when the class activities are in their peak in the district. He said that the ANP leaders had also commandeered the buses earlier this week to carry its workers to Drosh to participate the public meeting of the party addressed by its provincial president Afrasiab Khattak. The student of degree  college in second,  Manzoor Ali  year said that they did not afforded the closure of the college needlessly even for a day as the colleges will close down for winter vacations by the second week of next month. He said that they had covered hardly half of the syllabus while they had only four weeks in hand. Former MNA from Chitral Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali criticized the PPP and ANP leadership for using the college buses for the purposes other than pick and drop of the students.
