CHITRAL: Deputy Commissioner Chitral Shahab Hamid Yousafzai on Tuesday assured a delegation of teachers that from now onward no one would harass or intimidate them under the pretext of security etc and that all their genuine issues would be resolved.
The assurance from the new DC came when representatives of All Teachers Association and the All Primary Teachers Association met him at his office.
The delegation, led by All Teachers Association president Mr Zia Uddin, briefed the DC about their issues especially the FIRs registered against a number of teachers for the lack of security in the schools.
The DC said that ensuring security of schools was not the responsibility of the teachers and in future they would not be harassed for this.
He said it was important for the teachers to concentrate on their basic job of teaching without being embroiled in other issues that did not come under their purview. The DC said he would do his best to resolve issues faced by the teachers.
Besides Mr Zia Uddin, those who were in the delegation included ATA general secretary Qari Muhammad Yousuf, Principal CMHS Chitral Jamal Uddin, Principal GHS Booni Sahibur Rehman, teacher Sardar Hussain from Drosh, APTA president Jamil Uddin and general secretary Saeed Ullah.–Irshad Ullah Shaad
