Relief goods sent by PDMA arrive

CHITRAL: The first batch of relief goods from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority reached the areas affected by heavy snowfall.

At least 14 people were killed in an avalanche in Chitral’s Shershal area on Sunday. Land-routes to the area have been blocked and the National Disaster Management Authority sent a helicopter for rescue and relief efforts. Several families are trapped inside the affected area. The local people have demanded C-130 flights to Chitral besides opening of all the blocked roads.
