Police team formed to probe murder of boy

CHITRAL: The district police officer (DPO)  has ordered an inquiry into the murder of a teenage boy in Oveer area of upper Chitral who was reportedly found hanged near his house on Saturday night.

Oveer police station house officer Qazi Faiz Ahmed said an FIR had not yet been registered as the police were waiting for the postmortem report.

The DPO in a statement said a team had been constituteid to ascertain the circumstances under which Imam Sadqeen, 14, son of Imam Zakreen, of Pakhturi in Oveer, was murdered so that the culprits can be brought to justice.

The investigation team comprises the additional SP Chitral, SDPO Mulkhow, and the incharge of district security branch Chitral. The team has been directed to submit its findings in five days.

Local people said another such incident in the area in the recent past remained untraced.
