MNA-elect from Dir asks NHA to open Lowari top road

UPPER DIR, May 17: MNA-elect from Upper Dir, Sahibzada Tariqullah, on Friday asked the National Highway Authority and army’s engineering unit to remove snow from the Lowari top road. He said the Lowari top road remained closed for five months every year due to heavy snowfall, adding the people were allowed to use the tunnel for three days a week due to the ongoing work on the project. “This is causing problems to people to go to and come from Chitral district,” he said. The MNA-elect, who belongs to Jamaat-i-Islami, said he had talked to NHA project director about the issue but he said NHA had awarded contract of snow removal to the army engineering unit.]]>
