PESHAWAR: Swearing by the holy Quran, MPA Fouzia Bibi here on Thursday said she had voted for the PTI candidate in the Senate election and could never thinking of horse trading.
Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, she said after allegation post-Senate election she clarified her case in front of the party leadership who assured her that there was no allegation of selling votes by any party lawmaker. But some quarters have continued a smear campaign since the Senate polls against me on the social media and I have sent them legal notices to prove the allegations. Ms Fouzia said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was trying to trap her in order to save the skin of the members of his group in the cabinet and the party. She said she was in the panel of Ayub Afridi which had 14 members. The panel got 10 votes while the party leadership has accused 10 members of the panel of selling their votes. This shows that there is no truth in the allegations, she added. Ms Fouzia said she would approach court against the allegation as her political career and respect of her family was at a stake.
She called upon PTI Chairman Imran Khan to refer the matter to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for probe and said those found guilty of horse trading should be punished. She said she was ready to prove her innocence.
