GOC Malakand takes more relief goods to Shershal village

MPA Salim Khan, Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Nizamuddin Shah along with the DC and DPO Chitral accompanied the GOC during a visit to the avalanche hit Shershal village, says a press release issued by Chitral Scouts.

The GOC on the occasion announced Rs100,000 compensation for the heirs of the nine people killed in the avalanche on behalf of the army’s Malakand division. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has already announced Rs300,000 for each affected family.

People of the area on the occasion demanded immediate opening of the blocked road to the area and arrangement of doctors to provide medical treatment to the residents who were facing different seasonal diseases.

The army helicopters also airlifted six people from the village and dropped them in the Chitral town as they needed medical treatment.
