Floods also kill three people in Rech

BOONI, July 26: Three people were swept away in flash floods in the remote Rech village of Torkhow valley on Sunday.
Two of the victims were identified as Abu Turab and Moazzam Shah while the name of the third deceased could not be confirmed. Floods have also been reported from Parwak and Laspur valley while the Chitral-Booni road is still blocked at a number of points due to fresh floods. The repaired portion of teh road near kuragh for pedestrian was again washed away by flood on Sunday.

Meanwhile, relief goods sent by the Gilgit-Baltistan government for the flood-hit people of Chitral disappeared after reaching Mastuj. Sources told ChitralToday that the relief goods had reached Mastuj four days ago but despite the fact that the road was open the relief items could not reach the affected people which needed them.

چترال (بشیر حسین آزاد )اپر چترال کے مقام ریچ تور کہو میں بھی اتوار کے روز سیلاب آنے کے نتیجے میں دو افراد دینار معظم شاہ اور سید تراب شاہ جان بحق ہو گئے ۔ سیلاب سے پندرہ گھرانوں ایک پُل ایک بجلی گھر کو بھی نقصان پہنچا۔ علاقے میں مزید سیلاب کے خطرات ہیں ۔ اس لئے لوگوں نے اپنی جانیں بچانے کیلئے محفوظ مقا ما ت میں پناہ لے لی ہے ۔ پاک آرمی کے ہیلی کاپٹروں کے ذریعے اتوار کے روز گرم چشمہ اور بالائی علاقوں کے متاثرین تک خوراک پہنچانے کا سلسلہ جاری رہا ۔ جبکہ بروز کے مقام پر مین چترال پشاور روڈ پر متاثرہ پُل کے متبادل فوری سٹیل پُل تعمیر کرنے کے لئے متعلقہ سامان کی ترسیل شروع ہو چکی ہے جس کی تعمیر سے بڑی گاڑیوں کے آمدو رفت کا مسئلہ حل ہو جائے گا ۔ چترال سکاؤٹس کی زیر نگرانی خوراک گاڑیوں کے ذریعے بھی مختلف متاثرہ علاقوں کو روانہ کر دیے گئے ہیں ۔ جہاں متاثرین میں تقسیم کی جائیں گی ۔
