First DPO Upper Chitral meets local notables

BOONI: The first district police officer DPO) of Upper Chitral Zulfiqar Ahmed Tanoli took charge of his office and held a meeting with local notables at his office.

The representatives of Booni bazaar traders presented Chitrali kaphol and bouquets to the new DPO.

The notables said power outages were the major issue of Upper Chitral over which the residents have been protesting for long.

They said if the power crisis was not resolved, it could lead to a law and order issue in the area.

They also stressed the need to crack down on drug peddlers in Upper Chitral to purge the area of the menace of drug addiction.

The DPO told the notables that he had already held a meeting with the deputy commissioner Upper Chitral to devise a way out of the power crisis that had affected everyone in the area.

He said collective efforts were needed to maintain law and order in the district and action would  be taken against drug peddlers.–Karim Ullah
