Three-day cultural festival marks Independence Day

tugThe event showcased diverse cultural events besides food festival  and traditional music of reed instrument to the beat of which polo and tug of war were organized. HF implemented the event with Chitral Gol Conservation and Development Organization, says a press release. The festivities continued for three days with thrilling events participated by people from every walk of life including women. The concluding ceremony was held at polo ground on 14t August and this grand ceremony was presided over by Districit Nazim, Haji Maghfirat Shah. Rehmat Ghazi and Riaz Ahmad members of District Council and Altaf DDMO Chitral were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion the District Nazim lauded the efforts of Hashoo Foundation and CKU in promoting the culture of Chitral and creating social harmony by patronizing the cultural events. Earlier in the day, a separate Jashn-e- Azadi event was organizedmusicfor women in Govt High School Singoor which was chaired by Tehsil Nazim Chitral, Molana Ilyas. The students and teachers of the school and women of the surrounding villages participated in the event. The children of the school delivered speeches on the importance of independence and Pakistan movement. The members of young women club Chitral also participated in this event and organized an exhibition of traditional foods. The Jashn-e Azadi event was ended with a thrilling musical evening where the local artisans trained by Hashoo Foundation showed their performance.trophy]]>

    If some body has witnessed musical programme with Musical Instrument of Chitral except Sithar, then we appreaciated the effort of Hashoo Foundation and participation of DistT Nazim as Chief Guest. Otherwise, it can’t be called Chitrali Cultural Event.

    It is good to see Jamat e Islami Chitral ameer distributing awards rather cash awards among Chitrali singing, dancers, and drum beaters. Good change, as molvis have started taking interest in music and dance parties. Keep up the good work Mafirat Shah 🙁

      Perfectly agree with you. We have seen Foot ball tournament here in Chitral organized by Jamate Islami where without Dhool was unique. peoples from surrounding were talking Jamat e Islami step into tournaments but must be Dhool. Another senior aged man said next year they will start dhool as well because its their 1st step to organize foot ball tournament.
