LAHORE: Hundreds of people going to Chitral remained stuck at Lahore due to unavailability of public transport vehicles to Chitral on Thursday.
As the Lowari tunnel opens on every Friday and Tuesday, the passengers were in a hurry to reach upper Dir.
However, at the bus terminal they were told that the wagons directly going to Chitral had been booked in advance.
The Chitrali passengers could not even catch buses for upper Dir and expressed apprehension that they would not be able to cross the tunnel on Friday.
The passengers complained that the public transporters on all routes to Chitral were fleecing the travellers due to a lack of regulation by the authorities concerned.–Munir Hussyn Fatemi
