Bilawal turns his guns on ex-PM and PTI chief at Chitral jalsa

CHITRAL: PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here came down hard on the PML-N and the PTI and said only the PPP could steer the country out of the crises.

Addressing a big public gathering at polo ground Chitral, he said he was proud to be among the people of Chitral who always supported the PPP even in difficult times.

“We always have tried to resolve the issues of Chitral,” he added. When Shaheed Bhutto came to Chitral, it was without educational institutes so he opened the Govt Degree College and the Govt Commerce College Chitral. He also set up power stations in different parts of the valley besides providing essential commodities such as wheat from Punjab in subsidized rates to the people of the valley. Electricity was brought to Chitral from the national grid through the difficult terrains of Lowari.

He said former president Asif Zardari during his tenure changed the design of the Lowari tunnel from rail to a road tunnel. He also spent Rs2 billion on different projects such as the Golen powerplant from where very soon people of Chitral will get power. Recently, the disqualified prime minister inaugurated Lowari tunnel to take credit of the mega project which was initiated by Shaheed Zukfikar Ali Bhutto, he added.

The apex court not only disqualified Nawaz Sharif but also ended his hypocritical political career. Mian sahib would have to give account of all his plunders and injustices with the people of the country, he added. The PPP chief said both Mian sahib and Khan sahib are power hungry and are two sides of the same coin. He said Mian sahib made politics a business venture while Khan sahib introduced gaali in politics.

We will take part in the elections with full force and after coming to power would continue our pro-poor and pro-worker policies besides emphasizing the promotion of education. The main issue of the youth is employment and the PPP always created job opportunities and never spent public money on mega projects just for publicity. I want education and healthcare institutions in the country should be given priority.

He said the scope of the BISP would be expanded to give the poor their rights if the PPP came to power. Central PPP leaders including Syed Khursheed Shah and Shery Rehman were also present at the public gathering. Traditional gifts were presented to the guests on the occasion.
