CHITRAL: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) provincial general secretary Attaul Haq Darvesh, joint secretary Molana Amanullah Haqani, information secretary Abdul Jalil Jan and naib emir JUI Chitral Molana Sami on Thursday warned against establishment of Aga Khan Diagnostic Centre in Chitral town.
Speaking at a press conference, they said if the Aga Khan Health Service wanted to set up such a facility it should be established in Ismaili dominated areas, according to a document available with ChitralToday.
They also said a Serena hotel was being planned in Dolomuch near Chitral town which would not be acceptable. If these projects are allowed to go ahead, the JUI would launch a large scale protest against the government and would encircle the provincial assembly and National Assembly buildings, they warned.
They said the district administration should resolve the issues by taking the MPA and local leadership of the JUI into confidence in order to maintain peace in the valley.
The JUI leaders also opposed the opening of butcher shops in Garam Chashma by members of the local Isamaili community.
Earlier, a general body meeting of the JUI was held held in Denin which decided to march on Islamabad to lock down the capital on the call of its central leadership against the government.
