Being a citizen of Pakistan it is my privilege and legal right to express my view on the Peace Shandoor conference between two sides i.e. KPK government and Gilgit Baltistan government for peaceful arrangement of the coming Shandur polo festival which is withheld from last three years. Due to which all kinds of activates of both sides badly affected including business of middle class people like transporters, hotels and other businesses.
We want to reproduce the last paragraph of MOU for the general public which (both the ministerial delegations of KPK and GB showed their concerned about the situation and emphasized to resume the traditional Shanduor polo festival which is stalled for the last couple of years due to certain issues with regard to the local dispute of ownership/ property rights of the territory and management of the event. The dispute regarding territory is already under arbitration with the commission constituted by the government of Pakistan. However, keeping aside the said, workable solution can be sorted out for holding the annual polo festival in a benefitting manner).
We condemn the statement of unrelated people who want to sabotage the peaceful arrangement of Shandur polo festival. The seminar held on April 20, 2015, was only for the good arrangement of the festival not more while the dispute of the territory between two provinces is already sub-judice in applet court of GB as well as under the study of the commission constituted by the government of Pakistan.
We also condemn the words used in the press conference especially the word of agents of India. While Gilgit Baltistan is an independent and 5th province of Pakistan, this was an objectionable and we reserved to file a case in the court of law.
The seminar was only to celebrate the peaceful arrangement of the festival and nothing else.
The Monthly Shandoor (Mahanama Shandoor) is a well known Magazine, working since last 17 years and highlighting the public grievances of the people of Chitral especially who facilitated both side of governments in order to achieve the goal. While The Shandoor Welfare Organization registered in Gilgit Baltistan bearing Registration No GHE-R-07/2011 and functioning for both Chitral and Gilgit and nothing else.
Being a legal person, we cannot discuss the dispute outside the court which can be deem fit a contempt of court.
The prominent citizen and my dear colleague Mr Shahab Uddin Advocate being a well-known person used unethical language against Mahnama Shandoor and Shandoor Welfare Organization. The addresses appearing on Mahanama Shandoor is also correct and in my nephew ownership in Karachi authorizes to use the address of Mahanama Shandoor. Mr Shahab Uddin is well aware. We can publish the magazine from any press in all over Pakistan which is not objectionable, while Shandoor Welfare Organization is registered with Gilgit Baltistan as stated above.
The seminar attended by the high officials of the both provinces including our two MPA’s and MNA are witness of this Peace Shandoor seminar nobody on both sides discussed legal issues related with the territory dispute .which is a separate subject and pending in the court of law as well as before the commission.
Our aim was only (how to celebrate Shandur festival with full zeal & zest) by involving the both sides of the people. The festival is an international festival, all over the world tourists interested to participate in the festival representing their countries, resultantly the business of the area concerns growth up.
Therefore I humbly request to the people of Chitral and their representatives specially the representatives of Laspur valley to use parliamentary language, this is our unique culture to welcome our guests instead to discourage their emotions and activities.
GB and Chitral have same cultures. Once a time the sub-division of Mastuj and Ghizer both were ruled by Mehtar -e- Chitral.
We hope that our local leadership thinks with peaceful mind instead to disrupt the peaceful environment in respect of coming Shandoor Festival and wait the territorial decision of the court.
