A doctor jumps into political race
CHITRAL: Senior skin specialist Dr Yousuf Haroon has decided to take part in the forthcoming general election from the platform of the PPP.
Mr Haroon is nephew of the later PPP MNA Syed Ghafoor Shah and has also been associated with the party for long. He retired from the health department a few years ago.
Dr Haroon said keeping in view his and his family’s long history of association with the PPP he has applied to the party high command for the ticket of either national or the provincial assembly seat of Chitral.
He said keeping the policy and vision of the PPP, he would work hard to work for the development and progress of Chitral.
There are two one National Assembly and one KP assembly seat for Chitral. The PPP has not yet finalized the names of its candidates from the valley even though there are scores of aspirants.

Anyone whether doctor, engineer or general has right to take part in election and it is his problem if he gets ticket or not and then if he wins election or not. no one should have any issue.
Politics is a dirty game. only personal interest are taken care of. no one thinks for the betterment of the masses
@Jaghuru: Relax buddy! I have said nothing wrong. The doctor never came to Chitral where people badly needed a skin specialist. He came to Chitral when he reached the age of superannuation. He got pension after serving for few years in Chitral at a higher post. And that’s it. If he was sincere about Chitral and wanted to serve the people why did he opted to do job at a hospital in Peshawar throughout his career? He could be a big dermatologist but he is in no way a big politician. Can he explain what makes him dream to get a ticket for next elections except being related to few politicians. If service and contribution for the development of Chitral is the yardstick for getting a ticket, the dermatologist has nothing in his plate.
There are people, obnoxious people who when left with nothing, start criticizing whatever comes their way. Inferiority complex is a bitch which destroys a person’s self esteem. Lucky! this Shamsher guy has found these online forums where he can spell out his hatred and make himself proud everyday. A general, overwhelming feeling of not being good enough no matter what. And hey, here we go…. you’ve found a new target now. It is really nice to know that you can write some English sentences.
The skin doctor, dermatologist, should have focused on doing private clinic as he is not fit for politics. Jumping into the fray just because you are the nephew of two former MPAs – unluckily both had nothing in their credit as far development of the area is concerned – is not going to take you anywhere let alone winning an elections. If this dermatologist is given the ticket, let me tell you people within the PPP will not only start fighting but they would launch a jihad against unjust distribution of tickets.
There are so many people who had rendered great services for the party. This skin doctor who had been doing jobs for well over thirty years and now has become a ticket aspirant on one ground: he is related to former MPAs Ghafoor Shah, and Zainul Abideen. Oh come on doctor in which world you are living in? The days are gone when people used to befool people sometimes in the name name of sect, biradari, etc. I would rather suggest to you don’t spoil both your energy and resources, as no one is gonna vote for you.
