CHITRAL: Former local government representatives have demanded that government employees belonging to Upper Chitral should be transferred to their area.
A meeting of former village council nazims with ex-VC nazim Khorkashandeh Hayatur Rehman expressed resentment over non-implementation of the KP government’s directive in this regard.
They said about 20 judiciary employees from Upper Chitral were still working in Lower Chitral and have not been sent to their new district.
These 20 employees have been given the option of working in either of the districts, the ex-nazims said. On the basis of this, all those working in different departments in Upper Chitral would come to Lower Chitral, they maintained.
This will create issues for the administrations as well as the people of both the districts.
The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has appointed the district judge, additional district judge and senior civil judge for Upper Chitral but due to unavailability of staff with these judges the litigants are still suffering in the new district, said the former nazims.
It is, therefore, imperative to transfer all those belonging to Upper Chitral and working in the district judiciary of Lower Chitral to their own area.
The ex-nazims called upon the chief justice of the Peshawar High Court to order the subordinate judiciary to get the government direction implemented.–Kamal A. Jamil
