CHITRAL: The announcement of Rs5,000 as a relief for the poor people affected by the coronavirus pandemic is totally disappointing and the KP government should be ashamed of it.

This was stated by MNA Molana Abdul Akbar while talking to reporters here on Friday.

He also rejected the lists of people who would get the amount and said it should be prepared under the district administration.

The MNA said picking only 30 people out of every 2,000 population was also ludicrous as almost all people especially in Chitral are affected by the pandemic.

He said at least 50pc population of each village council should be provided financial assistance.

He said the government of Sindh has announced Rs15,000 and Punjab Rs10,000 for the poor people most affected by the virus but the KP government was even not ready to give the Rs5,000 relief to all the affected people in a transparent manner.

The MNA said he would take up the issues being faced by people of Chitral with authorities concerned in Islamabad very soon.–Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
