Dumper driver killed as bridge collapses in Torkhow

CHITRAL: A dumper fell into a ravine near Istaru village in Torkhow, Upper Chitral, after collapse of a bridge over a nullah, killing the driver on Saturday.

SHO Torkhow Qurban Ali told ChitralToday that the driver identified as Iftikhar Ali was a resident of Chikari Sori village of Lower Dir.

The empty dumper was going to Booni from Torkhow when the accident occurred.

The SHO said the body of the driver was shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital Booni from where it would be sent to the native area of the deceased.–GH Farooqui
