Mosque sealed over row between two groups

BOONI: The central mosque of Washich village in Torkhow has been sealed to avoid a possible clash between two groups of people over appointment of the prayer leader.

According to an order issued by the additional assistant commissioner of the area, the two groups came up with Fatwas in support and against the prayer leader of the mosque.

The groups also started offering prayers separately but simultaneously in the two-storey mosque.

According to the order, both the groups by their intransigence could create a law and order situation. As a result, section 145 is imposed and the mosque is sealed (locked) till resolution of the issue.

In order to maintain peace, offering of prayers including Friday congregation would not be allowed in the mosque till resolution of the issue between the groups.
