‘Jinn doctor’ arrested, clinic sealed

DROSH: The teenage boy who had started treating patients and even conducted surgeries in Jinjiret was on Saturday arrested by the police.

A two-member team from the health department raided his so-called clinic and sealed it after taking into custody different utensils and medicines.

Abdul Haq, additional assistant commissioner Drosh where Jinjiret is located, in a letter to the district health officer of Lower Chitral on Friday sought legal action against the boy.

He said the student of seventh class had started acting as a doctor prescribing medicines and undertaking surgeries. This act of the child is an offence under the relevant law, he said, requesting the DHO for legal action against him.

The team along with the police visited the area and arrested the boy. The boy turned out to be ignorant of medical education. The team members said some owners of medical stores and parents of the boy were using him to mint money.

They said the claim that jinns through the boy were treating patients was ludicrous and against the law of the land.

In order to safeguard public health, the government arrested the so-called jinn doctor and will take action against those who were behind the drame.
