Family from Punjab seeks protection against landlord

CHITRAL: A man along with his family has reached Chitral from Punjab and sought protection against a landlord in his village located in the Hafizabad district.

Zaigham Abbas from Asadullahpur village in the district of Hafizabad in Punjab along with his wife and children told reporters in Chitral that Chaudhry Ehsanul Haq and his son-in-law, who is a police officer, forced him to leave his village along with the family.

“Had we not left the area and come to Chitral, the Chaudhry through his goons would have harmed my family and me,” he alleged.

Talking to ChitralToday, he said even after he reached Chitral, the Chaudhry’s goons were threatening him on phone. He said the agents of the landlord used to pick his elderly son from home and forced him to work in his fields throughout the day.

He alleged that the Chaudhry was trying to occupy his land in the village and the policewere supporting him.

Mr Abbas appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan and the chief minister of Punjab to provide him justice and take action against the Chaudhry.
