Role of media

It is a fact that in any county media plays a vital role to maintain peace and make the condition suitable for the citizens. It is the media through which people come to know about the current situation or the scenario of that nation. If the media of that nation is sincere and patriotic toward the nation, it will be good and bring good changes but if the media is working under a political party or working for self-interest it will ruin that nation.

If we look at our political system we find that it has been like a monarchy in which for so many years two parties used to occupy government turn by turn and used the media for their self-interest and projection.

That, of course, created a gap among citizens and led to misunderstanding among those who were ruling and those who were ruled.

As we have seen before this government different media always praising the former government. They frequently used to praise that specific party. Though they did some works but it is not like that you have to praise them again and again. Let’s put a glance on our talk shows. I feel totally shocked that why government has  given a free hand to them. They should follow rules and regulations and stay in their limit.

Through these talk shows what message these people want to convey to other part of the world. They invite different political leaders or representatives of parties and debate get so serious that they start fighting with each other.

I have seen that in these live shows men start fighting with women. They insult each other and when they start fighting they forget the ethical and moral values which look so awkward and this thing depicts the moral values of those people whom we are calling our representatives.

How beautiful it would be if they arrange some talk shows which are related to education, health sector rand so many other issues. How good it would be if in place of these talk shows if they arrange some documentary about those people who have done a lot for this nation and for this peaceful religion. How beautiful it would be if these people would discuss problems of youth which are like a backbone of any nation and discuss different problems of country which we are facing nowadays.

No, but they have to raise their rating so why these people discuss public issues. They have their self-interest and they are running after that.

As a youth and as a student and a citizen of this beautiful country and on behalf of all the youth I humbly request the government to stop these shows now. It should be stopped and in place of these talk shows there should be some good and Islamic programmes. The media should  be fair, transparent, unbiased and impartial and reflect common aspirations.
