Stoppage of hotel construction challenged in court

CHITRAL: A doctor from Lahore has approached the Peshawar High Court against stoppage of work by the district government of Chitral on his under-construction hotel in Karakal village of Kalash valley.
Dr Irfan told this correspondent that he had married a woman in the village and his father-in-law gifted him a piece of land on which he was constructing a hotel.
He said now when about 80 per cent of work had been completed the district administration on the request of the KP archaeology department stopped the work.
The archaeology department was of the view that modern structures cannot be built in the Kalash valley.
Petitioner’s counsel Muhibullah Terichvi told ChitralToday that accepting the plea the court had summoned the chief secretary KP and the deputy commissioner of Chitral on Feb 21. –GH Farooqui
