Polio drive to start in 10 union councils on 27th
CHITRAL: The polio campaign that could not be launched in 10 union councils of Chitral due to snowfall and road blockades on Monday would now start on Jan 27 and continue till Jan 30.
The drive had already been postponed in 14 union councils after they were declared calamity hit. Later, due to the sudden inclement weather, the activity could not be launched even in the remaining 10 UCs.
Now the union councils of Arandu, Ashiret, Drosh 1 and Drosh 2, Denin, Koh, Charun and Drasun will be covered from Jan 27 to Jan 30. As many as 49,058 children under the age of five years would be administered drops during the campaign. The arrangements for the drive were discussed at a meeting here on Friday.—Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
