Teenage labourer from Chitral dies in road accident in Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: A teenage boy from Khruzg village of Yarkhun was hit and killed by a vehicle in Rawalpindi on Friday night. The victim was the only son of his parents.
Zahid Ali, 17, son of Pineen, had come to Islamabad along with his father to work as a construction worker. The father and son were working at G-13 Islamabad, their relatives told ChitralToday.
On Friday, Zahid went to Phase 8 of Bahria Town in Rawalpindi to meet a friend where he was hit by a land cruiser while crossing a road. He died on the spot due to head injuries.
As he had no identification papers and his mobile phone had no SIM, the body was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
On Saturday, his relatives launched a search and found the body at the hospital. The father later pardoned the driver of the vehicle after which the body was handed over to him by the police and taken to the native village for burial.
