Seventh case of suicide within just a week
CHITRAL: As many as seven people, mostly students, committed suicide over different issues in Chitral within just one week with the latest incident being reported from the Broz village near Chitral town on Saturday.
The Chitral police said Muhammad Ashraf Khan, 45, son of Muhammad Zuhoor Khan, father of three children, shot himself dead with a 12-bore gun in Broz on Saturday. The police also said the deceased was a drug addict and killed himself after borrowing the gun from a neighbour. The actual cause of the suicide could not be ascertained.
Earlier in the outgoing week, six people, including two young women, ended their lives in different parts of Chitral. Most of them were said to be distressed over poor results in their intermediate exam.–S. Nazir Hussain
