Ex-MPA Zainul Abedin passes away
LAHORE: Former MPA and PPP Chitral president Zainul Abedin passed away here on Thursday. He was admitted to a private hospital in Lahore a few weeks ago.
The former MPA used to spend winters in Lahore with his nephew Saifuddin Saif. At the age of 86, the PPP leader was in a very good health before he was hospitalized although he had undergone a cardiac surgery in London over 20 years back.
Born in a very well-known family of Morder village of Mulkhow in upepr Chitral in 1930, Mr Zainul Abedin served in Chitral Scouts and retired from it as Subedar. Later, he took part in politics and was elected as the member of the district council Chitral in 1979.
He lost the election to teh post of chairman district council Chitral by just one vote. In 1993, he was elected on the then single seat of the provincial assembly for Chitral on the ticket of the PPP. He also took active part in social services in Chitral and was considered to be the most respected and non-controversial political figure in the whole area.
A very sad news indeed.

I would like to extend my deeply sorrow, condolence and sympathy to Dr, Saad ul Mulk, Saif uddin, Andan, Salman and to the other family members on the passing away of the great social worker and Politician of Chitral.May God rest his soul in eternal peace and give the strength and patience to his whole family to bear this irretrievable loss. Through Chitraltoday I want to express my deeply sympathy and condolence to all the family members on the passing away of our lovely former Member of Provential Parliment and PPP Chitral president Late Mohtaram Zianul Abidin of Morder Surly this is a shocking and sad news for the entire Chitral region,because one thing we certainly say he always put political differences aside and keep soft corner even for their political opponents .Late MPA was a vary close friend of my late father and both were retired officer from Chitral Secots.It will be vary hard to fill this political substance in Chitral.Late MPA was not only acceptable and famouse political personality for the both school of thoughts in Chitral but as well as a notable religious representative of Ismaili Community accorse GB region too .On this vary sad day my condolences also to all my brothers and Sisters of PPP in Chitral And GB areas too.We lost a unique political hero and a true soldier of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.We all pray to Almighty Allah to grand his soul in eternal peace Ameen,

Death is an ultimate reality and mourned, more are less, but, sometimes it leaves a vast vacuum in the lives of the bereaved family, relatives, friends and the society, as a whole, which remains unfilled for decades. The demise of Mr. Zainul A’abideen, former MPA, a seasoned politician, a faithful friend, a loving father, a kind elder, an honest and dedicated social worker and the towering personality of Chitral, is considered to be one of such deaths which have left us in such a state of shock and loss that can’t be described in words.
