French agency approves 15m Euros for Chitral powerhouse upgradation

The powerhouse will be upgraded from the current 0.5MW to five MW.
It may be noted that two AfD country directors – Denis Cassat and Jackie – had twice visited Chitral along with MNA Chitral Shahzada Iftikhar Uddin in May 2014 and September 2015, respectively.
The MNA had approached the French ambassador in Islamabad in July 2013 for financial assistance for the upgradation of the powerhouse to resolve power crisis in the town.
“Congratulations to people of Chitral town. Work on the upgradation of the powerhouse will start once modalities between the Economic Affairs Division, WAPDA and AfD are finalized. The project will cost Rs1.7 billion, including the share of WAPDA,” said the MNA Chitral in a press release on Monday.

As far as I know, chitral is one of the Pakistan’s most remote district and most complecated to work. Anyone who can manage it with limited resources definitely deserves to be called the best sincere leader. Thank you Iftekhar Sahab for your great effort!
