Reshun Gol floods leave three dead, widespread destruction

RESHUN, July 25: Three people, including a girl, were swept away in flash floods in the Reshun Gol on Saturday night while five others are injured.

Two of the people who lost their lives in the flood were identified as Badan Khan, a brother of Mir Ghazi Jan of Romandur, and Mehek, four years old, daughter of Mohiuddin. The third victim was said to be retired personel of Chitral Scouts but his name is yet to be confirmed. The body of Badan Khan was recovered and buried in the village while the two other bodies are still untraced. Hundreds of people fled towards the mountains overlooking the Reshun village to save their lives as the heavy flood in the stream started damaging houses and crops on its banks on Saturday night.

The floodwater inundated areas from the Reshun petrol pump to the utility store outlet and destroyed all houses in Roman Dur, Kmbakhi, Panan Deh of Gol, Koran Dur, Sarang Duri and Khora Dok. The flood started without any rain. People, including women and children, were seen fleeing out of the area as night fell. The Rural Health Centre (RHC), Govt High School, the petrol pump and scores of shops were damaged by the flood.
A resident of the village told ChitralToday on phone that almost 80 per cent of Reshun has been destroyed by the floods. The people of the village spent the whole night under the open sky and some of them were still in the mountains. Even on Sunday morning, there was no help coming from any government or private organization and local volunteers were trying to help and locate the affectees.

چترال(بشیر حسین آزاد)چترال سے 50کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر واقع گاؤں ریشن میں ہفتہ کی شام خوفناک سیلاب نے تباہی مچادی۔سیلابی ریلہ ریشن گول کے نشیبی علاقے میں داخل ہوکر متعدد گھر وں کو بہا کر لیاگیا ہے۔جس کی وجہ سے 4سال کی ایک بچی مہک دخترمحی الدین اور بدان ساکن رومان ریشن جان بحق ہوگیا۔تفصلات کے مطابق ریشن گول کے قریب رہنے والوں کو پہاڑی سے چرواہے نے سیلاب کی اطلاع دی تو لوگوں نے پہاڑوں پر محفوظ مقامات پرپناہ لیے جس کیوجہ سے اُن جان محفوظ رہی۔رات کو بچوں اور خواتین کھلے آسمان تلے رہنے پر مجبور رہے۔سیلابی ریلہ پہلے گھروں میں داخل ہوکر گھروں کو بہا کر لیا گیا ہے۔سیلابی ریلہ پہاڑ سے ٹکرا کر گذررہا ہے جبکہ نالہ کے دوسرے سائیڈ پر سیلابی ریلہ روماندہ اور پٹرول پمپ کے ساتھ گذرا۔سیلاب کے وجہ سے ریشن پاؤر ہاؤس بھی بُری طرح متاثر ہوا ہے اور لوگوں کے باغات،فصلات،زمینات کو بھی شدید نقصانات پہنچے کی اطلاعات ہیں۔
