Paragliding gaining populariy in Chitral

CHITRAL, Oct 19: Paragliding is becoming yet another popular game in the picturesque valley of Chitral for not only national and international adventurers but also for the local fliers. Like polo, this is also considered the game of the king. Hindukush Association for Paragliding’s senior pilot Shahzada Farhad Aziz has been flying high in the valley of Chitral promoting the hobby of paragliding among a number of locals. Recently, he took Gul Hamaad Farooqui, a local journalist in a flight over the Chitral National Gol Park during which Mr Farooqui captured the beauty of Chitral in his camera. Shahzada Aziz told Mr Farooqui that a number of tourists had been flown by pargliders in Chitral, adding this helped promote tourism in the area. He said recently American pilot Sender Brad took off from the Summer Palace in Chitral which is situated at an elevation of 8200 feet where a royal fort was also built in 1910. The paragliders say that Chitral had immense potential for the promotion of tourism in the field of paragliding and if the government paid a little attention towards this sector, a huge revenue can be generated. ]]>
