Time to rein in transporters

For the last many months transporters have been fleecing commuters on the Chitral-Peshawar Road without any check from the authorities concerned. These transporters continue looting the poor people of Chitral but they have no forum to seek a remedy from. I am 100 per cent sure that the district administrations of Dir and Chitral (DCO, DPO and other officials) are involved in this daylight looting spree on the road. If they are not hands in glove with the transporters, why they are not taking action? I am also sure that the transporter unions are feeding these big fish. I appeal to the provincial and the federal governments to take stern action against not only the transporters but also the officials concerned for their failure to rein in on the transporter mafia.—Kashi Islamabad  ]]>
