Ispru Forum hailed for environment initiatives

CHITRAL, Jan 9: The Ispru Youth forum organized a mega event as a component of a series of activities included in the Environmental Awareness Project. The Forum had won this project in the youth micro-challenge award organized by the AKRSP with the support of CIDA (EELY), says a press release. The major activities in the project were designing and distributing manual, formation of environmental clubs in schools, training of club members and mega event. On the completion of the project, the mega event was organized at PTDC Booni where officials from government, AKRSP of the AKRSP, BLSO, teachers, community leaders and students participated. The guests who attended this event included Minhas Uddin (Assistant Commissioner of Mastuj, Booni), Muhammad Saleh (Assistant Commissioner of Mastuj, Booni), Nasir Ullah (SDO education Booni), Sher Afzal (Manager BLSO) and Saleh Uddin (representative Sahiban Organization). In the event, various issues related to environment identified by students were presented in front of the government officials and assistant commissioner of Mastuj promised to give special attention to these issues. Further, Mr. Minhas (Assistant Commissioner) promised to start this year plantation of Government Girls Degree College Booni assigning the implementation to Ispru Youth Forum Chitral. All the community leaders and representatives of community organizations praised the efforts of the IYFC in promotion of environmental awareness.]]>
