Forest catches fire

CHITRAL, July 12: A fire broke out in the forest of Achulga situated between the Kalash valleys of Bumburate and Rumbur which consists of deodar trees. District Coordination Officer Rahmatullah Wazir said hectic efforts were afoot to extinguish the fire as he had sent the border force to help the forest officials. He expressed the hope that the fire will be stopped before its proliferation to the other areas of the forest which contain most precious deodar wood. Regarding the timing of the break out of fire, he said it was reported in the late afternoon on Thursday that a part of the forest had caught fire.
