House burning case: Action against CS personnel sought

CHITRAL, July 25: Syed Amir Hussain Shah, a resident of Bumbagh village, has demanded of the army chief and inspector general of Frontier Corps to take action against an official of Chitral Scouts who allegedly put his house on fire. Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that on the day of occurrence, sepoy Shamsuddin of Charun village, posted in Kuragh post of Chitral Scouts, had threatened him on telephone from the post. He said that at midnight, he found his house in flames which had been ignited by none but Shamsuddin. Mr Shah said that his house was reduced to ashes during the process and he received a huge loss of about three million rupees as nine cattle heads were also burnt which provided him a source of sustenance. He complained that the arrest of the accused had not been taken place despite the lapse of more than one week as he had nominated the accused in his FIR. Mr. Shah said that his application to the commandant of Chitral Scouts also fell flat as no action was initiated by him against the brutal terrorism of his official. He also alleged that the post commander of Kuragh was also involved in the incident who came to his house the next day of the occurrence and instead of consoling him abused him and threatened him of dire consequences if he opened his mouth against his official.–Zahiruddin]]>
