Opening of Chitral power project soon

ISLAMABAD, May 21: Chief Minister KPK Ameer Haider Khan here on Monday said work on the Lawi hydropower project in Chitral would be inaugurated soon.He was talking to a delegation form Switzerland led by Assistant State Secretary for Asia and Pacific Division Ambassador Beat Nobs in Islamabad. The chief minister said a total of 2,100 megawatt electricity would be generated through 24 power houses in the province. He said out of the 1,000 primary schools announced under the presidential package, 700 primary schools would be for girls.  He said monthly scholarship for girls at primary level had also been implemented.  The chief minister said large number of primary, middle and high schools, more than 50 colleges and seven universities had been established in length and breadth of the province during the last years.]]>
