Four Chitrali labourers shot, injured in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, May 3: Four Chitrali labourers were shot and injured by their employers in Islamabad on Thursday. The Koral police told chitraltoday.net that three persons, including the owner of the house where they worked, had been arrested. The injured have been admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), according to SHO Koral Town, Mr Mehboob. The victims have been identified as Didar Ali, a resident of Parkosab, Mastuj; Azmat Khan of Brep, Jameel Khan from Khot and Buzar Ali from Immit, Yarkhun valley. According to the police, the labourers had done plaster work at the house of one Shafiq at Ghori Town Phase-V for about Rs50,000 to Rs60,000. The owner of the house did not paid them Rs15,000 dues despite repeated demands and visits to his house by the labourers and passage of long time. On Thursday, they approached the elders of the area and on their intervention the employer agreed to clear the dues but asked the labourers to finish some other pending work at his house. When the labourers agreed and went to the house and started the work, the house owners called his accomplices and thrashed them. Later, they also opened fire on the labourers, injuring them in the legs and abdomen, and escaped leaving them in a pool of blood. After some time, the police were informed by the onlookers who reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), where one of the injured was operated upon in the night. The police said on the complaint of one of the injured, three accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.]]>
