Elders games add colour to spring

KURAGH, April 17: Senior citizens from Kuragh and Charun enthusiastically took part in different games, including cricket, tug of war, racing and shooting here on Sunday, adding colour to the spring season. All the matches were full of zeal and zest with the clapping and encouragements of the onlookers. During the cricket match, the manager of PTDC, Amir Mohammad Khan, added colour to it by joining the Charun team which won the match after an interesting competition. In the tug of war, both the elders of Kuragh and Charun started pulling each other and at last Charun team remained the winner. The next and final match of race started in the ground and Mohammad Dost was the first to cross the line. Another game was the aiming at a target by traditional bow (Dar Chonjer) and in this a senior citizen from Charun, Abdus Samad, remained the winner after hitting the target. At the end, the TMO Mastuj thanked the participants and highlighted the objectives of the programme. The chief guest, MPA Haji Ghulam Mohammad while addressing the gathering of the elders and youths said such hearty activities did not exist in any part of Pakistan except upper Chitral due to the current spate of terrorism. He announced a sum of Rs3,000 for the winner, Rs2,000 for the runner-up team of cricket and Rs1,000 for each of the winner and runner-up teams of tug of war, racing and target aiming.–Alhaj Muhammad Khan    ]]>
