  1. The problem Mr Shahpar does not lie in our starts but in ourselves that we are underlings. Please have a look at your geography. Its almost 20% of KPK and look at the size of your population its not even one percent of the population of the province. The resources that would come into the area would depend on your population size. If there is any reason for the your backwardness in terms of physical infrastructure its because its impossible for any representative of yours to generate those kind of resources because of the single seat that you have in the national and provincial legislatures. Beyond this its the individual capacity of your representative, their credibility and network and ties that generates you small grants that solve some of your many problems but sadly its a human limitation that this can only be done incrementally and in small numbers. Lets acknowledge the strengths of each of our representative and give credit for the odds against which they have to fight to give us a semblance of development rather than getting into our Chitrali pastime of vilifying everyone because they are better than us. The last MNA gets the credit for putting Chitral into the federal planning process. He fought valiantly for the rights of Chitral, a fact that was acknowledged by the Planning Minister repeatedly and the Prime Minister during two of his visits to Chitral towards the end of his term. Why was Chitral Town made an exception and provided electricity from the national grid when other places in Pakistan did not get that privilege despite the power being generated in their valleys. Similarly he fought to extend electricity to upper Chitral although the lines belonged to PEDO and there was no instances of electricity being supplied to PEDO by PESCO. The upgradation of Chitral town power house and the building up of ties with the French aid agency also goes to him. The main roads in Chitral valley came on the national planning agenda for the first time. They may be delayed and done in small bits and pieces but they are on the national agenda. The supply of gas will solve our energy problems and possibly reduce the pressure for firewood. All this requires hard work and building of relationships and ties to have it acknowledged at the federal level. Lets not belittle this effort in the name of Chitral’s development. In the PPP government Chitral did not get its share of funding on the Lowari project because funds were diverted by no less a person than the Prime Minister to his home constituency in Multan and the PML government had to get international loans to complete the project. The remarks of the nature of personal ties between the former Prime Minister and the former MNA are figment of Mr Shahpars negative mind. Mr Nawaz Sharif had repeatedly asked to visit Shahzada Mohiuddin both during his visit to Chitral and even in Islamabad. His family with gratitude declined the request out of consideration to the illness of Shahzada Mohiuddin. Sadly with his sick mind Mr Shahpar adds his own twist to this simple fact. We as Chitralis must ackowledge that we face an almost impossible situation in seeking funds and developing our district. You have to go across the Shandur Pass to see that even without representatives in the national legislatures GB gets far more government resources than us. This is because of their geo strategic locations.. Chitral unfortunately has none of that and its will be struggle for Chitral to get resouces and develop itself even if itsgets the best representative in the assemblies because its population is too small in the overall scheme of things. Le us not belittle our elected representatives who ever they are and ackowledge their efforts because even if we are divided after elections we have little chance to meet our challenges
