Workshop on maintenance of hydro-power plants concludes

CHITRAL, Nov 16: Hydrolink organized a five-day training workshop for operators of SWAT Operation, Maintenance and Management of Micro-Hydro Power plant with the joint collaboration of Sarhad Rural Support Program (SRSP) under the EU funded PEACE project. workshopThe training was organized at the Center for Sustainable Development Hydrolink Engineering Company Taxila, said a press release on Saturday. The main aim of the PEACE project is to reduce the negative impact of economic deprivation, poverty and social inequality in areas affected by security crisis and natural disasters and to turn this into opportunities to build and empower the communities so that they can actively participate in the development process. The purpose can be achieved by involving communities in the development process to improve governance by creating confidence and leadership skills in them, thereby taping local energy potential, specifically renewable energy in mountainous regions. As many as 30 operators for ten microhydel projects of Swat other operators from Kashmir and Chitral participated in the training and learned about the theoretical and practical training, SRSP field engineers also participated in the training and appreciated the training organized by Hydrolink. On the occasion Mr. Bahar Ahmed SRSP HRD Head also presented his views about the need and outcome of the training lasted on 9-Nov 2013 and appreciated the efforts of Hydrolink management team for successfully organizing Operation & Management training for SRSP MHPs Operators of Swat, He further added that SRSP will conduct more trainings in future for the Operators of Chitral, Shangla and Dir for the sustainability of Micro Hydel Projects implementing by SRSP under EU Funded PEACE Projects. Engr. Fazli Rabbi, the CEO of Hydrolink, at the opening session of the training thanked SRSP for organizing such trainings and said Hydrolink being leader & professional manufacturer of the sector is in discussion with international manufacturers and consultants to transfer the technology and also is approaching to make joint venturing to be able to bring innovation and transfer the technology up to mega watt projects, further adding he told’ at the end of 2014 it will be possible to contribute in mega watt projects at Hydrolink Taxila.]]>
