Upper Chitral nazims warn of protest in Banigala

The meeting held at the residence of Mukhtar Ahmed Sangeen was chaired by Kushum village council nazim Mirza Alam. The participants of the meeting said that despite making tall claims the PTI-led government did not transfer powers to the grassroots level and now deprived the village councils of the development funds. The nazims asked the provincial government to withdraw its decision of deducting the development funds by 75pc within 15 days otherwise the elected representatives would launch a public agitation. The president of the nazmeen forum, Muhammad Pervez Lal, who is the naib nazim village council Booni-1, told ChitralToday that if the government did not release the promised funds all the nazims across Chitral including the councillors would stage a protest sit-in outside the Banigala residence of PTI chief Imran Khan in Islamabad. ]]>
