BOONI: Member Tehsil Council Mastuj from Charun UC, Mr Sardar Hakim, has said non-filling of administrative posts by the provinvincial government has added to the public issues in upper Chitral.
Talking to ChitralToday on Thursday, he said that at present only one assistant commissioner, Hameedullah Khattak, and one tehsildar are performing duties in the whole tehsil while a number of posts of additional ACs and tehsildars remain vacant for long.
Mr Hakim said that upper Chitral spreads over 8400 square kilometers area and due to the shortage of manpower the local administration was facing hardship in discharging its responsibilities.
As a result, people coming to Booni, the headquarters of the tehsil, either have to wait to get their petty work done or most of the time have to go back after wasting their time and money.
He was of the view that without filling the key posts the government’s claim of efficient service delivery can never be fulfilled.
The elected member of the local government demanded that all the vacant posts in the local administration should be filled without any further delay in order to facilitate the people if the remote area.
