Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Central Shura member and former MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has demanded of the National Accountability Bureau, KPK Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) and other anti-corruption institutions to conduct an impartial inquiry in the alleged embezzlement of development funds in constituency NA-32 Chitral.
Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, he alleged that All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) MNA from Chitral, Shahzada Iftikharuddin had transferred discretionary funds, meant for various developmental schemes in connivance with officials of Public Works Department (PWD) in his personnel account. He further accused him of illegally distribution of funds as bribe among the party workers.
According to documents of PWD, JI leader said, that the funds had allocated for installation tubewells, hand pumps, and other small-scale development projects. But, he said that neither practical work nor any development project was initiated.
JI leader urged the NAB, KPEC and other anti-corruption institutions to obtain all documents of different projects in constituency NA-32 from Pak PWD to thoroughly probe that where the funds is being utilized and how many development work completed, due to which inflicted huge financial loss to national exchequer.–Business Recorder
